Harrogate Grammar School's chosen charity for 2023/24 Zarach provides bed bundles for children who do not have a bed and therefore are not having their basic needs met. Zarach say:
Poverty is a real problem that has a significant effect on a child’s education. By providing something to eat and a good night’s sleep, we hope to give every child an equal chance to learn and succeed at school.
Together, we can meet their basic needs, give them a good night’s sleep and an equal opportunity at school.
A group of our Year 7 and Year 8 students will take on the challenge of spending the night sleeping outdoors, in basic conditions, experiencing some of the difficulties that those who do not have a bed face on a daily basis.
