Harry and Sarah's Challenge for a treadmill, for Children with Mobility Challenges and Difficulties

Harry Carter is raising money for i care

Swansea Ironman 70.3 · 13 July 2025

We deliver outstanding NHS community healthcare to patients across Kent, as well as parts of East Sussex and south east London. From much-needed additional equipment, which the NHS isn’t able to fund, to saying thank you, every penny you give helps.

Story

Harry (a paediatric physiotherapist) and his Mum (Sarah) are taking on a new challenge… an Ironman 70.3. This involves a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride, followed by a half marathon (back to back!). To raise money for a treadmill for Children with a range of mobility challenges and difficulties.

After completing a range of different physical and mental challenges including marathons, swimming and cycling events, raising money for a variety of charities. We have decided to take on this new challenge to raise funds for i care, an NHS charity that supports services within Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (a trust Harry works for).

What are we doing this for?

Harry has worked with the Children’s Therapies Team as a physiotherapist, working with Children with a range of neurodivergent, neuromuscular, genetic conditions and those with other physical difficulties (working closely with their families and sometimes schools).

We are raising money to fund a treadmill that can be used by the children supported by the Children’s Therapies Team. For rehabilitation after surgery and in preparation for surgery, to maximise the effectiveness and quality of the physiotherapy available to these children and their families.
