Story
I am running the Battersea Park Half Marathon on 29/03/26 in memory of my darling mum, Cate. It has been a difficult past few months coming to terms with a world without Cate - the distance between the UK and Australia only exacerbating that void.
I feel a sense of helplessness knowing that dementia is the leading cause of death in both the UK and Australia. The impact this cruel disease has not only on an individual's quality of life, but for their family, friends and colleagues, is immense and upsetting to witness.
In attempt to make a tangible difference, I want to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the leading dementia research charity, working to revolutionise the way dementia is diagnosed, treated, prevented. Ultimately, striving to find a way to cure it.
I am new to running so this is going to be quite the challenge but any support you can offer will give me the energy and love to push through!
This one is for you Cate xx
