I’m going to Spain on me bike !

My dear brother George had some back pain that would not go away in 2022 and in early 2023 a cancerous chondrosarcoma was discovered on, in and around his sacrum at the base of his spine. Only curable by surgery, and after an 9 hour operation during which we nearly lost him he is left with little movement in his legs, on crutches or in a chair. He is not cancer free and has regular ongoing scans to check the imposter has not returned. Completely life changing and still in some pain he has battled so hard and is an inspiration.

I am leaving East Sussex in a group of 4, cycling to Portsmouth to catch the overnight ferry to St Malo. Then on to Spain for Tapas, and back to Biarritz to fly back to the UK with our bikes. 10 days, approx. 1000 kms.

I am raising funds for Sarcoma UK ( About sarcoma | Sarcoma UK ). Sarcoma is a type of cancer that attacks soft tissues and bones and is relatively rare (5300 cases in the UK PA). Because it is a a rare disease there is little funding and the charities aim is to raise awareness, conduct research and develop treatments.
