Story
In May, I’m running the Hackney Half Marathon. If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d be lacing up trainers and running for fun, I’d have probably thought you were delusional.
Recovery is the only reason I’m still here and it’s the only reason I’m even able to take on a challenge like this. Recovery didn’t just change my life, it gave me one.
I’ve chosen to support The People’s Recovery Project. They do the heavy lifting in helping people rewrite their stories. Addiction is relentless and destroys the soul so the work they do is also soul saving.
I’ve set a target of £1,000, but I’d love to smash that. I don’t really operate with "moderation". I want the achievement, I want the glory and I want to see the total go as high as possible.
But mostly, I want to show up for a cause that saves lives, because I know straight up that without recovery, I wouldn't be at the starting line.
If you can spare a few quid to help me reach the goal, I’d be massively grateful. If not, all good, I’d love to see you there on the day.
Thanks for being part of the journey.
Love x
