Story
I am running the 2027 London Marathon for Autistica! Autism is close to home for my family and I, as my beautiful nephew, Sidney, has Autism.
If I’m completely honest, I’ve always felt that I could be a better uncle to Sid. I sometimes don’t understand what he’s trying to say, I fail to recognise that he is overwhelmed and don’t know how to calm him down, and there’s been times where I’ve felt disconnected from him. I am running the London Marathon to show him how much he means to me, and be that uncle I’ve always wanted to be.
I’m thrilled to be representing Autistica. Their research is bringing ground-breaking insights into Autism, enabling more effective interventions annd support, which is helping to improve the lives of Autistic people. They also have great resources and advice to help people like me understand Autism more, and be able to better support those with it. Autistica has helped me to be a better uncle, and I’m so pleased that I’ll be able to support the work they do so they can touch more lives for the better.
My target is £3000. Any contribution you can make, no matter the size, is appreciated and will help Autistica continue their fantastic work.
£5 could help one professional to spot signs of autism in children sooner, giving them the best possible start in life.
£10 could give one training session for parents to help their child's social and emotional skills.
£50 could give 10 people access to Autistica's self-guided anxiety app for one year.
Join me on this journey. I’m not a natural runner, so this will be very difficult and your support will be needed! I intend to start training from October, and I’ll use this page to share updates, and count the miles until race day in April 2027.
Please support me if you can – donate, share my page, and help spread awareness.
Together, we can make a difference for autistic people and their families.
