Harry Parkin is raising money for White Lodge Centre

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Our team of 8 wonderful runners will be running the iconic 2025 London Marathon in aid of White Lodge. On the 27th April the team will run 26.2 miles, go team! 🚀

Story

I am SO excited to be running the 2025 London Marathon in support of White Lodge.

White Lodge provides services that enable those with a range of disabilities, their families and carers to lead fulfilling lives. They are based in my home town, and my very own sister, Serena, is a support worker there!

Their vision is "a world which is inclusive to all, regardless of ability", and they are currently support over 1,200 individuals across Surrey and beyond through a diverse range of services for all ages and abilities.

White Lodge is based on a wonderful two acre site in Chertsey in three specialist buildings with great facilities and services for all ages, including: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, a specialist nursery, hydrotherapy, holiday clubs, personal support in the home, short breaks (respite), fitness and rehabilitation and many activities such as trips out, art, baking, swimming, and much more.

Why I am running for White Lodge

I am running for White Lodge because I whole heartedly believe in their mission and want to get behind that. I would love to play my part in supporting their fundraising efforts. They rely on voluntary donations to keep the centre open and hopefully my (likely very slow) attempt at running London aims to support that.

Having taken up running in 2023 as a way of boosting my own mental and physical health, I'd like to use the challenge of my first marathon to support the ongoing services that White Lodge deliver.
