Story
We're taking on HARP24 — a 24 hour endurance race/ultra marathon to help raise money for HARP, a charity supporting the homeless in Essex. None of us are ultra runners (not even close), but after watching the London Marathon last weekend, fuelled by a few too many pints in the sun, we decided that running 100km each within 24 hours sounded like a proper laugh. We also didn’t quite realise that the big day is in less than 2 months time.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Tom, Harry, Cam & Dan
No one should be homeless.
We’re Southend’s leading homelessness charity. We provide housing, advice and support to over 1,000 people each year who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing their home. We help them lay the foundations they need to rebuild their lives and end the need for rough sleeping for good.
Working alongside our local community, we provide street outreach every night supporting people into emergency accommodation. When people’s basic needs are met, the real work begins. Our ongoing support is tailored to each individual’s needs and includes finding permanent accommodation, building life skills; overcoming challenges such as addiction or health conditions, and in time, helping people back into work, education, or training.
For every £1 you donate to our team, 96 pence will go directly to the frontline to support people experiencing homelessness in Southend-on-Sea. We cannot continue our vital work without your support.
