Head to Toe is extremely close to my family's heart, and is the charity of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. They help provide additional support and services that enhance the incredible work of our healthcare teams.

My late funny and loving sister, Ellie, was looked after by staff on these wards periodically from the age of 14, when she began suffering from severe mental health issues. Like many illnesses, mental health doesn't discriminate and, in August 2022, Ellie sadly lost her battle with mental health on these wards at the young age of 26, which was beyond devastating.

For more than 10 years we battled with Ellie in her fight against mental health, and the ward staff that supported my family and Ellie during this time did so with undeniable passion and dedication which was not only instrumental to her wellbeing and safety, but also critical in aiding my family through this often extremely difficult period.

We will always be grateful for the opportunity to raise funds for Head to Toe, which we hope will repay, even a little, the immense debt we owe the dedicated staff on these wards and help them continue to offer support to so many other families experiencing the huge spectrum that is mental health.
