Story
In December 2023, I lost my Grandmother, Olive, to Sepsis.
An infection in her gallbladder led to this condition and nothing further could be done for her.
My Grandma lived to the incredible age of 92 years old. She lived an amazing life which included being married to my Grandad (Peter) for 61 years. She had 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who all loved her dearly.
In her memory, I have decided to compete in 3 events this year to raise money for the Sepsis UK Trust. These events are Ride London (100 mile bike ride round London), Swansea 70.3 Ironman Triathlon and Cardiff Half Marathon.
Fundraising is at the heart of the fight against sepsis.
It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.
It also funds the vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. They also lobby government to support the cause and make vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
Please donate anything you can and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page.
