Story
At Hartley Farm Shop & Kitchen, supporting our local community is at the heart of what we do. Each year, we partner with a charity whose work makes a meaningful difference to people and families in our area.
For 2026 we are raising money for Motor Neuron Disease via the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation
For the second half of 2026 we will be supporting our good friend Lewis Moody, in his efforts to raise awareness and funds for the cruel illness, Motor Neuron Disease. Lewis was sadly diagnosed with MND in 2025 and ever since has channelled all of his efforts into working with the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation in raising awareness of this disease, and fundraising in any way he can.
In a recent interview, referencing the foundation, he said "I feel that I am being brought off the bench to take that baton forward and trying to get this job done," "Whether that is in my lifetime or not, I very much intend to give my energy and time to a cause that's worthwhile and one I genuinely believe will produce outcomes."
Doddie Weir OBE set up My Name’5 Doddie Foundation in 2017 following his MND diagnosis with a simple, defiant belief: that “MND is not incurable, it’s just underfunded.”
My Name’5 Doddie Foundation “funds the smartest, most efficient research. Because when you’re living with MND, time matters.”
The charity has a clear vision: a world free of MND.
Tom & Tamara, directors of Hartley Farm, co-organised a 24/7 running challenge for MND in June 2026. With the help of some key organisers, many wonderful volunteers and over 100 incredible runners, they raised over £60k!
We will continue to support this brilliant charity for the rest of the year. Watch out for updates on how you can get involved or simply donate now.
Every pound brings us closer to breakthroughs. Help us end MND.
