I want to raise money and support local homeless people at Christmas.

The challenge I’ve set myself is to do as many pull ups as possible, starting 9pm on Friday 20th December and finishing 6am Saturday 21st December. I’ve chosen this time window as this will undoubtedly be the toughest time for the homeless, so in doing this challenge through the night I’m trying to make it as hard for myself as possible both physically and mentally. I can’t even comprehend what they must go through day to day, let alone the night time, so doing this challenge over night feels even more appropriate.

I always feel very aware of how lucky I am to have a roof over my head and be able to spend Christmas with loved ones, friends and family, and want to raise money and help those less fortunate, and spread a little Christmas cheer in the process.

I will be doing an EMOM (every minute on the minute) of 3-5 pull ups every minute. In total this will hopefully equate to between 1,620 and 2,700 pull ups over the 9 hours if I manage that!

If you’re planning to donate (firstly THANK YOU!) one suggestion could be 1p for every pull up, so in and around £16.20 to £27. Equally, anything you choose to donate will go a long way, even if all you have spare is £1! I know Christmas is already an expensive time for a lot of us, so anything would be much appreciated. I’ll be posting and live streaming the challenge so will update on how many I eventually get through!

My plan is to partner with Launchpad Reading - Who are a local charity in Reading who help and support for anyone who is, or at risk of becoming homeless.
