Story
In 2013, a life-changing event occurred when my beloved nan was diagnosed with cancer. The news hit our family like a storm, turning our world upside down. Through those challenging times, St Christopher's Hospice provided not just care, but comfort, compassion, and a sense of community. They were our beacon of hope in the darkest of times.
Moved by the unwavering support and the critical research efforts to combat this illness, I vowed to make a difference. That's why I've decided to lace up my running shoes and take on the Rome Marathon in 2023. This isn't just a race for me; it's a personal crusade. With each step through the ancient streets of Rome, I'll be running in memory of my nan, for those who are battling cancer, and for the future where this disease no longer steals our loved ones.
My journey to the marathon is fueled by more than just physical training; it's driven by a deep desire to give back to the institutions that gave my family hope. I'm running to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and to support the incredible work of St Christopher's Hospice. Every mile I conquer is a tribute to my nan's courage and a stride towards a future where cancer can be defeated. My run in Rome is more than a race; it's a heartfelt homage to a remarkable woman and a cause that touches us all.
