Bath Half 2025 · 16 March 2025 ·

We aim to improve the life chances of young carers by offering 4-5 years of support. We match a mentor to each young carer, who offers support and practical help, for example, tutoring, books, equipment and university visits to raise and achieve their educational, personal and career aspirations.

Story

I am running 7 consecutive half marathons, ending with the Bath Half on March 16th. (In the likely event of an injury, I'll be biking 6 half marathon equivalents and running 1 half marathon...)

Young Carers Development Trust is a registered charity which tackles the lack of opportunity experienced by many young carers due to their caring responsibilities.

On average each year 48 school days (10 weeks) are missed or cut significantly short because of their caring roles. Children who are young carers miss out on all sorts of opportunities, from basic education to social and developmental activities. The Young Carers Development Trust enables young carers to fulfill their potential, their hopes and dreams.

As a first-generation university graduate, I am passionate about ensuring everyone has equal opportunities to reach their full potential. Education should be accessible to all, regardless of background and personal circumstances. That’s why I’m I'm raising money for YCDT - to support young carers who often sacrifice their own ambitions to care for loved ones. By supporting YCDT, you’re providing essential resources, mentoring, and funding to help these children thrive and reach their full potential.
