Story

As well as raising money for Hathersage Primary School, the Hathersage Hurtle encourages donations to the Eastern Moors Partnership who help restore and maintain a lot of the moorland through which the Hurtle route takes you. Donations are very welcome!

The Eastern Moors Partnership is a land management partnership between the RSPB and National Trust, caring for over 3500 hectares of open moorland from Ramsley Moor and Curbar Edge up to Burbage and the Hathersage Moors. Appreciated by many, the site entices wildlife enthusiasts, adventure sport seekers and those looking for quiet enjoyment of the landscape. Like many conservation charities, the bulk of our work is carried out through our determined volunteer base and team of six. Every donation made and parking ticket purchased goes back into the landscape; spent on trees, bog restoration and track maintenance.

RSPB are passionate about nature, dedicated to saving it. Since we started on our mission in 1889, the threats to nature have continued to grow, but we've grown to meet them too.

We’re now the largest nature conservation charity in the country, consistently delivering successful conservation, forging powerful new partnerships with other organisations and inspiring others to stand up and give nature the home it deserves.

With your fundraising support and donations to conservation you can help us to give nature a home.
