On the 29th June I am completing a solo 50K Ultra Marathon around London in memory of Laura and to raise money for the Be More Laura Foundation.

Laura was diagnosed in October 2018, at just 18 years old with Grade 4 Brain Cancer Glioblastoma and given just a year to live.

However, she went on to work her way through her list of ambitions, which saw her meet Michelle Obama, command a Royal Navy ship, graduate from the University of Manchester and present the weather on BBC North West Tonight.

Laura underwent surgery and multiple treatments including 6 weeks of radiotherapy. Despite her treatment, Laura also returned to University, where she studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Manchester, graduating with a 2:1 in 2022.

Laura passed away in May 2023, her wonderful family started the Be More Laura foundation to continue Laura's legacy, by helping to fund and support research specific to Glioblastoma.

Brain tumours receive only 2% of the money spent on cancer research- despite being the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. 75% of this research is funded by charities.

Laura throughout her battle has and continues now to inspire me, it was an honour to know her. I would greatly appreciate any donations.
