Outwood Academy Haydock's 10k run for Out There 2026

Katie Twist is raising money for Outwood Grange Academies Trust

St Helens 10k · 1 March 2026

Our mission for the Outwood Out There project is simple: to inspire our pupils and empower them to drive positive change is some of our most disadvantaged communities.

Story

On Sunday, 1st March 2026, a team of dedicated runners and walkers from Outwood Academy Haydock will take on the St Helens 10k.

Outwood Out There's mission is simple: to inspire our pupils and empower them to drive positive change. It’s not just about funding a volunteering program; it’s about empowering students.

The scale of the project is immense. Across our Trust, there are over 30,000 students who could potentially take part, with a staggering 33% coming from a disadvantaged background. For these young people, the structured, enriching experience of Outwood Out There alongside the experiential prize bank provides cultural capital and opportunities they might not otherwise access. It also gives many the chance to develop the skills and confidence to become agents of change within their own communities.

In recent years, our students have been surrounded by a false narrative of division and difference. They have expressed through Pupil Voice that they want to get out there and make a difference but they need your support to help them be the change-makers they aspire to be.

We are aiming to raise £500 for this vital cause as we participate in this personal challenge at the St Helens 10k. Your generous contributions will directly impact our students' lives and help us create lasting change in our communities.
