Hayley's fundraiser for Royal Papworth Hospital Charity

Swansea Half Marathon · 9 June 2024 ·
I was diagnosed with a genetic disease called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy when I was 17.
I was told that someday I may need a heart transplant.
That day arrived in November 2022.
On the 24th of January 2024, I received the greatest gift anyone could ever wish for.
A strong beautiful beating heart.
I will never let a day pass where I don't think of my donor and their grieving, courageous family.
The Royal Papworth Hospital Charity truly does deserve its title.
Without this specialist team, I would not be here. The care I've received under Papworth these last few years has been incredible.
I spent 15 days between ICU and the ward, and I cannot thank each and every staff member enough for the high standard of care and support myself and my family received.
My nephew Robbie George is doing a half marathon to raise money for the Royal Papworth Hospital Charity.
