Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 11th March 2026, just 10 days after giving birth to my son, I woke up with a crushing chest pain and pain in my left arm. I did not believe that it could be a heart attack at first but after all attempts to stop the pain had failed, I soon realised that this was the likely cause.
I had recently been in hospital due to complications post birth so was desperate to stay at home with my baby and toddler but hospital was the best place for me and it was there that I was diagnosed with SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection). It is an uncommon condition that cannot be prevented or predicted but more research is needed. I was heartbroken at leaving my family again. I had just returned home from hospital and was being torn away from them again.
Please follow this link for more information about what SCAD is and who it affects - https://beatscad.org.uk/SCAD-for-Patients/What-is-SCAD.
More research needs to be done as so much is unknown about this condition. I would love to think that my efforts may help to understand more about this condition.
My aim is to walk 100 miles throughout May and June. I know people can smash that out in less than one months, some in a few days, but as I am still recovering I'm taking it slow and building up to greater challenges!
For now, this is a challenge for me and I hope you will support me with it. Your donations will make a difference.
