On November 16th and 17th 2024, we will be taking on a monumental challenge: a 110Km Ultramarathon across the Moroccan desert. To put it into perspective, a marathon is 42.2Km. Day 1 will see us covering 60Km, camping overnight in the desert and then charging ahead with the remaining 50Km. Along the way, we’ll pass through stunning fortified villages, lush oases, and rocky desert terrain.

But this journey isn’t just about testing our physical limits; it’s about raising vital funds for two charities that we feel passionate about:

Shadow to Shine:

Hayley is fundraising for this incredible charity which is dedicated to transforming the lives of young people in London by providing them with real opportunities to build brighter futures. Through employability programs, mentorship, corporate insights, work shadowing, and paid placements, Shadow to Shine opens doors that might otherwise remain closed.

James' Place:

Liv is running in memory of her dear friend Finn Abberton. Finn tragically passed away in 2017 having been a pillar of life and joy at Durham University with a brilliant sense of humour and infectious laugh. Finn was incredible talented and loved by his friends and had this rare natural ability to lift spirits through his incredibly story telling and quick wits.

Alex Abberton, Finn's gorgeous mum, subsequently joined the charity, James' Place. James' Place's mission is to stop men dying by suicide. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. James' Place an amazing collection of warmth and hope that fills the charity's London and Liverpool centres. They provide free, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future providing vital support for those in need.

Training is in full swing, with friends joining us for long run morale, plenty of PBJ sandwiches, sports drinks, and of course, a few less glamorous blisters.
