Story
I might live to regret how widely I'm sharing this information, but next year I turn 40 - gulp. Before my knees and other associated body parts really give up, following a couple of mixed-success half marathons, I felt it was time to take on the big (for me, read: HUGE) challenge of a marathon - the whole flippin' 42 km!
Speaking of 40s, the brilliant charity I work with, Kidscape, is also turning 40 this year - so I'd be delighted if you would support me, and them, by donating a few pounds!
Sean and I will be doing the Milan Marathon, together, on Sunday 6 April 2025. I say "doing", not "running", as I'm making no promises that I'll be running the whole way!
Kidscape is a charity very close to my heart. Having experienced bullying myself during my school years, I wish I had known about Kidscape back then. My brilliant colleagues work directly with children and families experiencing bullying, across England and Wales. We provide workshops for children and their families, teaching confidence and assertiveness skills to tackle a bullying situation, as well as training parents, carers, and other adults with a duty of care to help spot the signs of bullying and help keep children safe.
I'm also raising money (in euros) for the shelter from where we adopted our fur babies, Melo and Aisha. The shelter isn't registered on here, so if you would like to support them, please contact me separately about this :)
