In April 2025, my life as I knew it was shattered into a million pieces when I got diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 41. The following 12 months consisted of 4 surgeries, 5 months of brutal chemotherapy and 15 rounds of radiotherapy, alongside mentally trying to process what was happening to me.

I am now recovering and building my strength back up whilst dealing with the side effects of medication which I'll be taking for the next 10 years.

The support I had from my husband, children, family and friends was incredible and they all carried me through some very dark times. My friend Emma was a constant source of support and together we've decided to take on this crazy challenge to raise money for Prevent breast cancer and to mark a new positive beginning for me.

So in September we will be 'racing across Europe', competing against 49 other teams to be the first to reach a checkpoint in Prague. Similar to the TV show 'Race across the world', we will start in Amsterdam and without taking flights, will need to stop at various cities along the way and doing it as cheaply as possible. Anyone who knows Emma and I, know we like a good 5* hotel so it should be interesting!

Any donations will go to the Prevent breast cancer charity who do fantastic work as detailed below and will motivate us to cross that finish line in first place!
