Story
Welcome to our JustGiving page!
We are excited to share our story and explain why we are raising funds for the Ronald McDonald Charity, an organization that has played an invaluable role in our lives. In September 2013, our twins, Jack and Kitty, were born prematurely at just 26 weeks. The challenges and uncertainties that followed were overwhelming, but thanks to the Ronald McDonald Brighton House, we found the support and comfort we needed during this difficult time.
A Home Away from Home:
The Ronald McDonald Brighton House became our sanctuary, offering us a "home away from home" as we navigated the complex journey of caring for our premature babies. Jack underwent life-saving surgery at Brighton Hospital, and during his extended stay there, the Ronald McDonald House became our refuge. Knowing that we were just a few steps away from our little fighter brought us immense peace of mind.
Staying Close in Times of Separation:
One of the toughest aspects of having premature twins was the emotional strain of being separated from our babies. When Kitty was discharged from the hospital before Jack, we faced the heart-wrenching reality of splitting our time between the two. However, the Ronald McDonald Brighton House offered us the opportunity to be near Kitty while still remaining within reach of Jack's side. This invaluable support allowed us to be present for both of our children during their most vulnerable moments.
The Power of Support:
The impact of the Ronald McDonald Charity's support cannot be overstated. Beyond providing us with a comfortable place to rest, they offered a network of compassionate staff and volunteers who became our extended family. We found solace in connecting with other families going through similar experiences, sharing stories, offering encouragement, and finding strength in one another. The sense of community created within the walls of the Ronald McDonald House was immeasurable, giving us hope and reminding us that we were not alone.
Giving Back:
Now, nearly 10 years later, Kitty and Jack want to give back. By fundraising for the Ronald McDonald Charity, they hope to ensure that other families facing similar circumstances will have access to the same level of support, comfort, and hope that we received. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and help provide a lifeline for families during their most vulnerable moments. J and K have been making and creating products to sell on Summer stalls. A just giving page is to supplement their efforts.
Conclusion:
Our journey as parents of premature twins was marked by uncertainty and fear, but the Ronald McDonald Charity's Brighton House became a beacon of hope for us. Their unwavering support allowed us to cope, find comfort, and stay close to our babies during their most critical moments. Today, we invite you to join us in giving back to this incredible organization, helping them continue their vital work of supporting families when they need it the most. Together, we can make a lasting impact and bring hope to those in need. Thank you for your generosity and support!
