Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page ❤️
Last year I had a bit of a rocky year with illness, various tests and scans. In the summer I had a diagnosis of Endemetreosis which I had removed, but blood tests from this resulted in the doctors noticing I had high iron levels.
Fast forward 7 months, five lots of blood tests and a genetic screening test, it has come to light that I carry both genes for Hemochromatosis which means I iron overload, meaning my body stores too much iron and if left untreated, overtime can cause serious damage to parts of the body. This explains the extreme tiredness at times and a few other symptoms I struggle with, but I won’t bore you with those lol!
Up until this diagnosis I had never heard of Hemochromatosis and will now have to have regular liver scans, bloods taken and blood tests to keep my levels in maintenance.
I want to now raise awareness for this lifelong condition that affects every 1 in 150 people , most of who are unaware they have it. I will be taking part in the Altrincham 10k in September along with my hubby, so if you could donate what you can, every penny makes a difference and it will be greatly appreciated 🥰
