Story
Macmillan Cancer Support help people living with cancer and their families throughout their cancer journey.
When I was 22, my Dad Kelvin was informed that his Prostate cancer journey would be coming to an end as his disease had spread despite years of medical intervention. Myself and my sisters relied heavily on Macmillan Cancer Support throughout his deeply emotional end of life journey. Their resources signposted us to the funding options available for Dad to have care and treatment at home as well as providing an ear to listen when it all got too much.
Getting a diagnosis can be a really scary time but with your donations, Macmillan Cancer Support will be able to help many more families, just like mine.
Last year I tackled Snowdon at Night, but this year I want to give back to Macmillan Cancer Support by taking on the Los Tres Picos - the Spanish Three Peaks part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The trek consists of climbing Mulhacen (3482m), Veleta (3394m) and Alcazaba (3371m), a total of 23 hours of walking over 3 days. This is going to be a challenge for me but I’m taking it on knowing my Dad is with me and that so many families can be helped.
