Story
55 CITIES. 55 10Ks. ONE YEAR.
In 2027, I’m running a minimum of 10K in every officially recognised city in England to raise £15,000 for Gold for Kids.
That’s 55 cities and at least 550 kilometres in one year.
Some will be organised races. Some will be social 10Ks with local runners and running clubs. There will be double headers, triple headers, very early starts and a lot of driving around England questioning my own decision-making.
But there is a serious reason behind it.
Gold for Kids is a volunteer-led dental charity that turns unwanted dental scrap into funding for UK charities helping children and young people.
Dental practices donate materials that would otherwise be discarded. Those materials are refined and the proceeds are given to charities doing important work across the UK.
I sit on the board of Gold for Kids, and I want more people to know what the charity does, more dental practices to get involved and more money to reach the organisations supporting children who need it.
The public target is £15,000.
That works out at approximately £273 per city. Five £55 Back a City donations for each of the 55 cities would raise £15,125 before including any £5.50 donations, general donations or money raised through connected fundraising pages.
You can support the challenge by:
- Donating any amount
- Donating £5.50 to represent the minimum 550 kilometres
- Donating £55 to Back a City
- Creating your own connected fundraising page
- Joining me for a community run
- Encouraging a dental practice to support Gold for Kids
If you are donating £55 to Back a City, please include your chosen city and your name or business name with the donation.
I am personally funding my race entries, travel and accommodation. Every donation made through this page will go to Gold for Kids, less any fees charged by JustGiving.
City 01 begins in Manchester on 17 January 2027.
Then we keep going until all 55 are done.
Thank you for donating, sharing, running or simply following along. It all helps more people hear about Gold for Kids and the work it supports.
