Story
Hi All
A child at our nursery was recently diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
This came as a big shock to the family as well as us as a nursery. After myself and my manager had a training session with the Cystic fibrosis team at great Ormond Street Hospital, which I must say hit home when you understand the life span some individuals have when they have the condition, it hit home how serious this condition is and us as a nursery wanted to help raise awareness of this, and to help support the charity to raise funds, to help support the charity.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 11,000 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
So every penny helps.
Thanks in advance
