On the 17th of August 2024, students from Queens University Belfast and Ulster University will be taking part in an ambitious challenge to run the length of the island of Ireland. This 555km route is from Mizen Head Co. Cork to Malin Head Co. Donegal.

These students are participating in this cross border run to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Marymount University Hospital and Hospice. If completed they will be the youngest people to run the length of the island. They hope to complete this challenge in 7 days but have planned for 10 if needed. You can follow the live updates on our Instagram and Tiktok

Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million.

MacMillan is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial and emotional support. They'll do whatever it takes, no matter what a person's needs are, we will listen and support them however they need us to — big or small.
