On Wednesday 14 October 2026, the Hearthstone team will embark on its 4th annual fund raiser for LATCH (Leeds Action to Create Homes). LATCH is a unique charitable organisation that refurbishes derelict and run-down houses in the Chapeltown, Harehills and Burley areas of Leeds. Once the houses have been fully modernised and furnished they provide housing for people who are homeless or in housing need.

This year, we will be hazel coppicing in Brixworth Country Park in rural Northamptonshire. Hazel coppicing is an ancient woodland management practice that promotes biodiversity by creating diverse habitats for wildlife, plants and insects.

Over the years, thanks to the generous support from our donors we have been able to fund a range of projects for LATCH: a container to store building materials, a new kitchen and a donation to the food bank for the busy Christmas period.

LATCH have just acquired a 1-bedroom flat; your contribution will help with the current renovation of this property, and will fund furniture & home goods, as well as flooring, decorating more. We aim to raise £4,000 to support LATCH in this important work.
