Heather's fundraiser for SongBird Survival

London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge 2025 · 24 May 2025 to 25 May 2025 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It took me a while to think about what charity I should do this walk for, and I realised whilst on a long walk - that song birds always make my walk so much more interesting, and having done some awareness raising for this charity during my year off - that this would be a great charity to raise for.
Song birds are in huge decline in our country, much like a lot of our wildlife. Since 1970 there has been a decrease in our bird population of 73 million (as reported by the Natural History Museum ). There are many theories as to why, and this is where SongBird Survival comes in, in their own words;
"SongBird Survival is a science-led organisation. We commission and fund high quality scientific research to fill in these evidence gaps and influence conservation action."
So yeah, if you want to keep hearing the beautiful song of the song thrush, the blackbird, and the nightingale, or continue to witness the natural wonders of a murmuration of starlings, please help me raise some money to support this worthwhile and important cause.
I'll be walking 100km at the end of May, from London to Brighton, in one go, with no sleep... Or I'll certainly give it my best go.
