Our dedicated team at the Amethyst Sexual Assault Referral Centre are climbing Yr Wyddfa at Sunrise, read below to find out why!

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and understood—especially during the most difficult times.

We are the Sexual Assault Referral Centre for North Wales, a dedicated team of Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs), Young People Sexual Violence Advisors (YPSVAs), Children and Young People Sexual Violence Advisors (CYPSVAs), Forensic Nurse Examiners, and Crisis Workers. Every day, we support children, young people, and adults who have experienced sexual abuse, helping them navigate both the emotional impact and the Criminal Justice Process.

We are currently raising funds to create a specialist animation film designed for children under the age of 10. This film will gently explain what to expect when accessing our service, helping to answer questions and reduce fear in a way that feels safe and age-appropriate.

While this project is being developed in partnership with Wild Kindness CIC and supported by PACT funding, we want to go even further.

With your help, we hope to provide soft toy plushies of the animation character for the children we support. These comfort items could make a meaningful difference during medical examinations, police interviews, support sessions, and even at Court—offering reassurance and a sense of safety when it’s needed most.

We already have resources for young people, including films and booklets, but we identified a gap for younger children. This project is about filling that gap and ensuring no child feels alone or overwhelmed when accessing our services.

As we have now reached our original £1,000 target, which will fund 500 plushies, we have now increased the target to £1,500 in order for us to support more children and young people with more resources. This could include, but is not limited to, more plushies, personal safety alarms, journals and fidget toys.

All funds donated will go to Amethyst SARC, fund number 8B55.
