During conflict and suffering in Ukraine, there are still rays of hope that shine through, thanks to organisations like Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid. This group can be found and joined on Facebook.

It has been a beacon of light for many Ukrainians affected by the illegal invasion. The group have made several previous trips to provide life-saving supplies, which include medical equipment for injured Ukrainian soldiers, clothing, trench candles, food, and toiletries for the most vulnerable adults, children and babies.

They have delivered to towns and cities such as Sokal, Lviv, Ivan-Frankivst, Uzhgorod, Kyiv, Dnipro, Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, Kherson and Kharkiv, to name a few. They either send or deliver themselves into Ukraine now almost once every six or so weeks. With previous donations from the public, they have delivered into Ukraine on 10 occasions and more recently delivered 25 tons of aid to Ukraine.

Amazingly they were donated 104 brand-new electric hospital beds and delivered them there in 3 shipments. There are more to deliver as well as bespoke hospital pressure relieving mattresses specifically designed for those injured due to the conflict with spinal injuries. At the same time, they will be delivering purpose made wheelchairs for children with severe mobility issues.

Any money raised here will go directly to a rental of a 45-foot Arctic truck and trailer to get these from Huddersfield into Ukraine.
