Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It’s taken me 6 months to build the courage to openly share my story. I am hoping that by doing so, I can help raise awareness for other ladies and also generate vital funds that can help Breast Cancer Now fund research and treatment and importantly support ladies battling breast cancer.
Also when I look at my journey I’d like to think about what I have achieved as opposed to what I went through (in addition to kicking cancers ass and staying alive)
So here is my story in my way
The Journey
Way way before ChatGPT was here
I’ve been using poetry to help my mind to clear
I’ve shared joys, celebrations and calendar days
I’ve sent love and thanks in my rhyming Ways
So this the platform in which my story I’ll tell
Of why for me why there’s a new significance of ringing a bell
For in may last year I was delivered quite a blow
As breast cancer for me made a show
Surgery, chemo, radiation, ongoing meds and care
Fear, worry, pain and losing my hair
I completed my chemo in December 2025
A gruelling medicine but it kept me alive
Radiation therapy is what followed that
All my treatment thankfully hidden by a colourful hat
I’ve fought this battle and tried to be brave
Quietly was the only path I could pave
It’s a tough 12 months for anyone to bear
My champion supporters you showed you care
My friends and my family you know who you are
My steadfast rock and 7 times a star
I want to give hope and support to other ladies out there
Who are feeling frightened and like “this just isn’t fair”
The treatment is brutal on your body and mind
And often you need someone who is more than just kind
Breast Cancer Now is a charity that offers some peace
With bonafide advice that can bring welcomed release
So im sharing my story and holding a charity event
To support breast cancer patients and also prevent
An afternoon tea in august I shall host
Cus those who know me know I love cake the most
Im Overwhelmed by the support as the tickets are all gone
But there is so much more that can be done
I’m asking if you can support get ladies back on the mend
I’d be so grateful of a few quid you can send
Breast cancer now needs our support
Can you help please, just give it a thought
