Story
I'm running my first ultra marathon, Race to the King, to raise funds for Parkinson's UK.
As many of you know, my amazing Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's around 10 years ago and we've spent the past decade witnessing it take hold.
Living with Parkinson's can be so overwhelming but Dad's such a fighter so he's still doing brilliantly, making the most of getting out and about whenever he possibly can. The journey has been challenging, but the unwavering support from the local Parkinson's group In Tunbridge Wells has made a world of difference to both Mum and Dad. For this reason I'm using the challenge to raise funds for the local branches that support them but 1/3 of what is raised will still go to Parkinson's UK to help support all the initiatives they manage centrally.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will be so gratefully received and will directly contribute to providing vital assistance and fostering a sense of community for individuals living with Parkinson's.
And in the meantime he'll keep on taking each day as it comes and we will be grateful for all the research and support that is enabling him to stay as well as possible every day.
Thank you
