One Light Seva Yoga
Come together in sangha to give food & shelter to as many homeless people as possible this Christmas!
108 Sun Salutations
30 November at 7.45 - 9.30pm
The Tree Room
‘Namaste’ is the traditional word used to greet one another in India. The meaning is: ‘the light in me sees the light in you'.
The ancient texts of the yoga tradition teach us that within all of nature moves the light of the soul. Yoga guides the way to come to know our own true nature as light. And so, in our embodied nature, there is truly no separation from one another at the core.
‘As rivers flowing east and west merge into the sea, they become one with the ocean forgetting they were ever separate’
Chandogya Upanishad
In his book ‘Be Love Now’, Ram Das advises us to see all beings as souls. And in a world such as this, there can only be compassion. Brother—your pain is my pain; your pleasure is my pleasure.
Yet, some of us still go unseen, unheard, or misunderstood.
Seva means service. It is said that ‘when we practice yoga, we practice for the benefit of all beings’ because we culture the best of ourselves through sadhana (practice) and bring a little more light, a little more love into the world.
Seva yoga can also mean to offer our actions and their fruits for the greater good. This is the practice of ‘oneness’ in action.
One Light Seva Yoga is the opportunity to practice 108 Sun Salutations with four teachers. Expect these to be soulful, uplifting, and energising, each infused with the creativity and energy of the teacher. We will close with savasana, mediation, and kirtan. This sadhana is for you to receive and enjoy, while raising funds to give food and shelter to as many homeless people as possible in the U.K this Christmas.
