Story
In 2022, we lost our dear friend and colleague, Heidi, to cancer. Heidi was a fun-loving, bubbly, and beautiful person who brought so much laughter and happiness into our lives. She loved being active, often sharing stories of long walks with her dog, keep-fit classes, and horse-riding capers. To honour her memory, we created an annual event – Heidi’s Hike. Since most of us have never been on a horse, we thought a walk would be the safer option!
Over the past two years, we have raised an incredible £9,774.96 for St Michael’s Hospice, whose care and support for Heidi and her family during her illness were truly invaluable.
The 2025 Challenge – Our Toughest Yet!
This year, we’re pushing the limits with our biggest challenge so far: a 32-mile trek along the historic 1066 Country Walk.
Part 1: Pevensey Castle to Battle (16 miles) – starting at 4 AM
Part 2: Battle to Rye (16 miles) – starting at 10AM
Celebration: We’ll finish in Rye with a well-deserved drink and buffet.
Our team of hikers will need plenty of plasters, chocolate, crisps, and beer (or water?!) to make it through the day, but every ache and blister will be worth it if we can raise much-needed funds for St Michael’s Hospice.
Every penny really does make a difference. If you can spare a donation, no matter how big or small, your generosity will help the hospice continue to provide compassionate care for patients and their families when they need it most.
💰 Ashdown Hurrey will match the first £1,000 raised, doubling the impact of your donations!
Thank you for your support – let’s make Heidi’s Hike 2025 our most successful yet!
