I am raising funds for River Action, who are a small campaigning organisation on a mission to rescue Britain's rivers from a toxic cocktail of pollution.

I have already cycled from Lands End to the Scottish border, and our rivers were the thing that kept me going when my legs were tired! We crossed the Mersey and the Ribble, we followed the Severn and the Lune. Our beautiful rivers, from their lively upland beginnings, to their majestic estuaries, offered up wonderful wildlife, stunning scenery, calming and stirring sounds. Going to sleep with the sounds of the river, waking up to the river birds calls. The rivers inspired me and pulled me onwards.

River Action is a charity working hard to raise awareness and help our rivers. I'd like to know, as I follow the Clyde down into Glasgow, and the Tay and Spey across the uplands, that we are doing our bit to help.
