Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Tim and I are running the Leicester Half Marathon together to raise money and awareness for Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire.

Bright Hope support adults in North West Leicestershire with mental health, loneliness and life challenges through free counselling, social groups, and community support.

Bright Hope is a very special charity and place to us as a family, and we wanted to share why we’re supporting this wonderful charity.

Over the past few years, Matt and the wonderful team at Bright Hope have been a huge support to both my Mum and Dad, and to all of us as a family.

My Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2022, which has progressed rapidly over the past couple of years. My Dad visited Bright Hope House most Wednesday’s on and off for around 18 months for respite daycare. Those days gave my Mum some much-needed time and support, while giving Dad a safe, caring and welcoming place to spend time. Dad loved spending time chatting to Matt and the team about Burton Albion and all things football ⚽️

Eventually, we had to make the incredibly difficult decision for Dad to move into a care home full-time in December 2025.

Even after that, Bright Hope have continued to be there for my Mum and for our family, offering kindness, understanding and support when we have needed it most.

For us, Bright Hope isn’t just a charity - we’ve experienced first-hand the difference they make to families in the community. The care, compassion and support they provide is truly invaluable.

That’s why we’re so proud to be fundraising for Bright Hope. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will help them continue supporting lots of families.
