Story
I am choosing to Sleep-Out for just one night in Alice Park, Bath, to raise money for the people forced to sleep-out every night.
It breaks my heart that there were 4,667 people rough sleeping on a given night last year and an estimated 382,618 people who are now homeless in England, including 175,025 children. This represents an 8% increase (28,602 people) in just a year, and means that at least one in 153 people in England are homeless (65 per 10,000 population).
On Friday 6th March, I will be swapping my bed to sleep under the stars and to take a stand against homelessness, while raising money for Julian House.
Last year, Julian House provided life-changing support to over 2,000 people facing homelessness; escaping domestic abuse, in recovery from addiction, leaving prison without a home to return to, fleeing war-torn countries, or living off grid.
One night does not represent what it is like to be homeless, but will give me time to reflect the issues surrounding homelessness and raise much needed funds for my chosen charity, Julian House.
Please donate, whatever you can afford, so Julian House can continue to offer people who are homeless a safe place to live and opportunities to change their life for the better.
Thank you x
