I am taking part in the Nine Edges Endurance 2026 as a personal challenge and to raise funds for Edale Mountain Rescue Team. Finally remembered to sign up after living in the area and intending to do it for 23 years.

Thanks to Edale Mountain Rescue for taking my husband Martyn to hospital when he fell while climbing at Birchens.

It is a 20mile off road route with 900m of height gain through the Peak District.

All Edale Mountain Rescue Team members are volunteers and they provide a 24 / 7 emergency service to those in trouble in their operational area. They are funded entirely by charitable donations.

They were founded in 1956 and have been saving lives for 70 years.
