🚴♀️🏔️🚣♂️ From No Bike to Racing the Sun – My Journey to Support Sick Children
This year, I’m taking on Race the Sun Yr Wyddfa!
A 50km cycle through Snowdonia, a hike up Snowdon, and a 2-mile canoe from dusk til dawn
When I signed up last year, I didn’t even own a bike. The last time I had one, I was 7 years old! (yes I’ve got the photo to prove it) I’d never ridden on the road and had no idea just how much this challenge would truly test me.
But then came another hurdle. Earlier this year, life threw me a major curveball. I had surgery to remove my large colon. I spent 10 weeks out of action recovering, and I’m still adjusting to the impact it’s had on my day-to-day life. straight after, I needed minor toe surgery, adding three more weeks to the recovery.
Now, with only 3 months to go, I’m focused on getting my fitness back and training hard. It’s tough, but I’m not alone. My amazing husband, who’s supported me through everything, is taking on the challenge with me. ❤️
But this challenge isn’t just about us.
We’re doing this for Action Medical Research, a brilliant children’s charity funding vital research into premature birth, childhood disabilities, and rare and incurable diseases.
Every donation, big or small, helps fund life-changing research and gives children a brighter future.
Thank you so much for being part of our journey. We’ll race the sun and race to change lives. ☀️
