Running the London Marathon for Parkinson's UK

Helen Brenton is raising money for Parkinson’s UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After running a half marathon in London last year for Parkinson's, I've accepted their offer of a place to do a whole one!! 👍😍

So why Parkinson's? 🤔 Well, as many of you know my youngest brother (just a year older than me) has lived with a severe & debilitating form of young-onset Parkinson's for over 20 years. The big run is the week surrounding his 60th birthday so I'm doing this for him, as well as for everyone who has friends & family affected by this disease - & also in memory of my late father who died with PD not that long ago... 🤗💕

But this is also about Me! As a keen runner, I am buzzing at the opportunity of taking part in one of the world's biggest running events and looking forward to all the drama and "pomp & circumstance" that goes with it!! 🤩🏃‍♀️🥂 I'll warn everyone in advance, it's probably all I'll want to talk about for the rest of my days!

Thank you for your support.
