Working in family law, I have been involved with this local domestic abuse charity in East Kent. It is understandably a difficult and upsetting subject for people. Rising Sun supports women, children and anyone affected by domestic abuse in Canterbury, Ashford, Folkestone & Hythe. The charity offers specialist services to those in crisis and to those living with the effects of trauma, helping them towards safety, recovery and to rebuild their lives. They support survivors from age 5 upwards through advocacy, mentoring, counselling, group programmes, supported accommodation, emergency safeguarding and weekly drop-in services.
