Story
I am not one of life’s natural runners but over the last twenty years I have come to enjoy the space, fresh air and mental wellbeing that running has brought to me. This year is something of a milestone for me and I am excited to say that I have been given a place in the London Marathon to raise funds for Oasis Domestic Abuse Service, a local charity which provides shelter and support for those adults and families across East Kent and Medway who have suffered as a result of domestic violence. I ran the Marathon once before – slowly in 2011 – so much has changed since then (including recovering from foot surgery) and I hope to manage a more creditable time this year!
As some of you will be aware, domestic abuse is an issue that is very close to my heart, and I understand that it can be isolating and wide reaching in its effects. I hope that by raising funds for Oasis I can help to increase public awareness of the work that they do, helping others to live free from fear.
I hope that you’ll be able to sponsor me and support this fantastic charity.
