Story
On the 6th June I am taking on the Blenheim Palace Triathlon to raise money for Amyloidosis UK — a charity that means a lot to me.
It’s been 4 years since I completed my last triathlon, but in September I decided to challenge myself in the year I turn 50!! Mops (my mum) thought I was slightly mad and now it’s only a few weeks away I would agree with her!
As some of you know Mops passed away very quickly in December last year from a diagnosis of Myeloma and Amyloidosis. Losing Mops so suddenly completely turned my life upside down, but Mops was a warrior, she never gave up, her determination and positivity right to the end of her life were traits that have inspired me to continue with this challenge.
This challenge will push me both physically and mentally, but I will swim, bike and run in her memory, raising money for Amyloidosis UK. This small charity supports people affected by amyloidosis – a rare and serious condition with a poor survival rate. With the help from your generous donations, the money raised can help fund research, raise awareness and provide support to patients and their families.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
