Our beloved Paul wished for any kind donations on his death to be given to Kidneys for Life. This was a charity extremely close to his heart as one of its patrons and key fundraisers is Dr Ajay Dhaygude, Paul’s very own Consultant Nephrologist. The incredible skill, expertise and unending compassion of this doctor made the past decade or so significantly more bearable for both Paul and myself.

Paul was born with Reflux Nephropathy and battled with End Stage Kidney Failure throughout his whole life. He had three kidney transplants, years and years of dialysis and innumerable operations. Without the devotion to their calling of Dr Dhaygude and many, many more medical professionals, Paul would not have been on this earth for fifty whole years. Please give generously to this special cause in Paul’s honour.

This is a little bit about the work of Kidneys for Life. More people than ever are battling chronic kidney disease & the numbers keep rising. While the risk increases with age, no one is immune—kidney failure can strike at any stage of life, often leading to dialysis or the need for a transplant.

The reality is heart-breaking. And while treatments like dialysis and transplants offer hope, there is still no cure. This must change.
