Story

I’m taking part in Starlight Hike this year - walking under the stars to help make sure more people get the expert care and support they deserve at the end of their life.

In Loving Memory of my Wonderful Husband

We are creating this page to celebrate the life of a truly special man, a devoted husband, and a doting father who brought so much sunshine into our lives. He was someone who lived life with an infectious energy. Whether he was out on the water chasing waves, walking his loyal dog Burt, or sharing a laugh with his close friends, he knew how to find joy in the everyday. I will forever miss his cheeky smile and those beautiful blue eyes that could light up any room.Nothing made him prouder or brought him greater happiness than the day our beautiful daughter, Daisy, was born. She was his absolute world, and his love for her will live on in our hearts forever. When he was diagnosed with bone cancer, our world was turned upside down. However, during his final days, we found an incredible sanctuary at Sue Ryder. The doctors, nurses, and support staff did not just provide end-of-life care; they provided overwhelming dignity, comfort, and profound kindness when we needed it most. They wrapped our whole family in support, allowing us to focus entirely on being together and sharing our love.

Myself,Daisy and Eva are raising funds for Sue Ryder St John's Hospice to say a massive, heartfelt thank you to the fantastic team there. Every donation ensures that other local families receive the same exceptional, compassionate care during their darkest times.Thank you so much for reading, remembering him with us, and supporting a charity that means everything to our family.

Sue Ryder believes how we die matters. Their nurses, doctors and bereavement specialists support people through terminal illness, death and grief - but too many still aren’t getting the care they need. That isn’t right, and I want to help change it.

Last year, Sue Ryder delivered more than 655,000 hours of expert care. Every second was made possible by people who chose to get involved.

If you’re able to sponsor me, you’ll be helping make every step count — so more people can get the expert care and support they deserve when it matters most. Thank you so much for supporting me.
