Story
A charity since 1921, Vision Support Harrogate District is a local independent charity existing to support and advise people in our community who are or know someone who is experiencing sight loss.
Support starts with their Eye Clinic Liaison Officer offering practical and emotional support to those who are newly diagnosed with an eye condition.
The Vision Support Centre offers a vast range of regular activities, which encourages independent living and the learning of new skills. Activities include IT training, craft classes, social events, fitness, and leisure activities.
For those unable to access the Vision Support Centre. To help alleviate their loneliness and isolation, they provide a helpline, telephone befriending, home visits and local community support groups. These services ensure that all their members receive the support they need despite the barriers they face.
