Although I have supported Nightingale House for many years, I would describe my support to date as fairly low key; donating to the lottery, attending concerts or visiting the lovely Caffi Cwtch, all so easy to do!

A bit more energetic was the Midnight Walk a couple of times, but this year I've decided it's time to take on a more serious challenge, which this trek will be for sure. No frills, extremely big hills and VERY basic camping....and I'm a fairweather camper at best! To do this in the hospice's 30th year makes it all the more special.

Thirty years of precious, high quality care in the heart of our community, care which inevitably comes at a high cost. Each day of in-patient care for someone costs £930. Meanwhile, a donation of just £10 keeps the hospice ambulance on the road for a day.

Even though I've had no personal family links to this care provision, I know many people who have, including some of my fellow trekkers. So it's in their honour that I'll be donning my walking boots in November (and slapping on the Deep Heat!) Tell the Dalai Lama to put the kettle on, we're coming for a paned! Honestly, anything you are able to donate will be so appreciated to spur myself and the team on. Diolch yn fawr x
