Story
Every day, thousands of people across the UK hear the words: “You have dementia.”
I had diagnosed mum years before the official delivery of those words. The loss of social & emotional connection, ability to function in life, or care for oneself is so devasting.
For my mum—and our family—life has changed, adaptations have had to be made, and emotional challenges faced. It’s is so sad to see someone you once knew slowly disappear, yet in body still be here.
The Alzheimer’s Society do such great work.
They provide:
🧠 Expert advice to help people understand their diagnosis
🤝 Personal support from trained dementia advisers
👨👩👧 Help for families and carers who are often overwhelmed
☕ Local groups and services that bring people together and reduce isolation
📞 A lifeline through their helpline and online community
They also fund vital research and campaign for better care—so one day, no one will have to face dementia at all.
But they can’t do it without you.
💙 Your donation can help someone feel less alone today💙 Your support can fund the breakthroughs of tomorrow
Together, we can bring hope to those living with dementia. I will be cycling 🚴♀️ from London to Paris to help my mum and many others!!
